In addition to adult, finished horses, Copper Head Ranch will sell foals, yearlings, colts & fillies.
Spanish Mustangs are an intelligent and intuitive breed. There is a lot to be said for raising and training your horse, and because they grow alongside their rider, it’s an incredibly rewarding experience.
A young horse will also provide you the opportunity to specialize your horse’s training. It’s a great way to bond with your Spanish Mustang, too.

The training regimen at Copper Head Ranch is designed to help each horse thrive well into old age.
Because Spanish Mustangs are smaller than American Quarter Horses, training usually begins a little bit later. This allows them to grow stronger ligaments and joints while preventing wear and tear.
Horses aren’t trained for riding until their 3rd or 4th year to allow them to fully grow. Prior to that, they’ll be trained to halter and bridle, then to saddle.
At 3 or 4, we begin training them for riding. By the time they’re 5 and through most of their growth, they’ll be ready for finishing.
